40 Years of Yom Yerushalayim: A Metaphorical-Midrash

On June 7, 1967, the 28th of Iyar, 5727, Israeli troops gained control of the Old City of Jerusalem, which had been under Jordanian control since 1948. In celebration of that event, Yom Yerushalayim was created, a new Jewish sacred day.
