IMPJ Preschool Project

impj
ARZA Canada, with the support of the Canadian Council for Reform Judaism (CCRJ) and the World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ) has initiated an exciting project in honour of Israel @ 60 to fund three new Reform preschools in areas in Israel where there is currently no Reform Movement presence. The Israeli Reform Movement (known as the IMPJ) has learned through years of experience that these preschools are one of the best ways to strengthen Jewish education and to engage families in the world of Reform Judaism. So far, the IMPJ has established 45 preschools throughout the country and the influence these Reform preschools have had on their participants, their families and their communities has been tremendous. Congregation YOZMA in Modi'in is an excellent example of a vibrant, thriving synagogue community that began as a preschool program.

According to the business plan the IMPJ has designed for this new project, after only three years of operation, the preschools will become financially self sufficient.  This allows the expansion of Reform Movement activities in the area in which the preschool operates, reaching out to families who may later start or join a Reform congregation.

In order to establish these 3 new preschools, the IMPJ needs $70,000 for their first year of operation.  An anonymous Canadian Reform Movement donor will match the funds we raise dollar-for-dollar, up to $35,000.
